In early 2022, I was contacted by the Infinity Marketing team to be one of the featured artists for HP’s REGEN project at Coachella. The final experiential piece was over 6 minutes long and was 360 projected inside the massive Antarctic Dome at Coachella Music Festival. This year’s dome experience featured custom scored music by Odesza and animations by myself, Blake Kathryn, Toomuchlag, Taehoon Park, Jon Norlander, Luke Penry, Tristan Ferreira, Catalysee, and Florian DKS.
More than 150,000 attendees experience the innovation and wonder of the Antarctic dome each year.
03 / About the Antarctic
The Antarctic has been a repeat icon at Coachella for four consecutive years and has become an attendee favorite, featuring artists and musicians such as Rüfüs du Sol, Android Jones, Julius Horsthuis, and Beeple. As the premiere geodesic projection dome in the world, the Antarctic allows HP to push the boundaries of storytelling by taking the audience on a reality-bending experience. Utilizing Immersive Hyperreal Surround Sound with the L-ISA audio system, combined with 5k spherical video, the 360° medium invites the guests to have deeper connection with the material through a unique and individualized immersive experience.

Considering I needed to render almost a minute of custom 5k content, I needed a little bit extra help on the hardware front to meet my deadlines. Thankfully, HP saved the day by providing a beefy workstation and 4k monitor to assist with producing the project.
Also super thankful to the Render Network team who also provided free RNDR credits to myself and other artists to help squeeze out those last minute frames and edits.
05 / Making a Difference
The final experience was minted on the Solana blockchain and auctioned as an NFT on FTX. The piece sold for a record setting $145,000 (the highest 1/1 sale on Solana to date) in support of California Reforestation via the Arbor Day Foundation. The NFT also included unreleased previews of ODESZA tracks that are not publicly available.
